Fast-tracking Scotland's sporting talent.
The sportscotland Institute of Sport Talent Programme has been set up to complement existing talent pathways in sport and to increase the number of Scottish athletes performing and achieving success on the World stage. The programme aims to use innovative and proactive talent capture, confirmation and development methods to fast-track more Scottish athletes to achieve medal success at the London Olympics and Paralympics in 2012, and importantly represent Scotland and achieve medal success at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014.
The initiative is committed to developing a talent programme that is a successful part of Scottish sport beyond 2014.
Gold4Glasgow
Gold4Glasgow is the campaign name for our talent initiative. Under this banner we hope to find potential world class athletes and fast-track their development towards success at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
A series of events will be run over the coming months in particular sports to attract potential athletes, confirm their talent through rigorous testing and training camps, and select a very special few to advance on to fully supported high performance programmes.
Individuals who make it through to final selection can expect to be working with some of the best coaches in Scottish sport and the many experts at the sportscotland Institute of Sport.
The first of our talent initiative events is women's cycling.
