[br]Cheers guys - appreciate the comments.
Was a bit apprehensive going into the race as I was a bit worried my bottle had gone for riding in a bunch and definitely didn't think I'd mix it up in a gallop, but once the race head goes on! Felt good having a number on again.

As above, great event by ERC - race had a really good atmosphere and it was good to see the young guns getting up there: Robbie obviously, but Greig Brown, Matt Hamilton,Stuart McClusky, and the Endura guys were all up there giving it a good go.

Also, Owen braw pics! Would you be willing to share copies of a couple of your photos?

Sure happy for that- sorry- I forgot to allow permissions for this batch. I tend to leave restrictions on, otherwise the pics tend to get lifted willy-nilly. Will sort.

[edit] - fixed the permissions now, so you should be allowed to take a copy for personal use. CAn be nice to get a credit if these pics are getting used on blogs, sites etc.

cheers

Andrew was a meritorious 19th in the race , in front of many young Pros.

Andrew now holds Spanish citizenship and was last seen in Argyle Place in late September 2001

My contacts tell me that Andrew's partner , Meneer Bigge , is planning a comeback this summer , he will be jetting in from Oudenaarde for the CannonBall Cup series and all the other big races this year.

Tell me about it Ivan!
SeƱor Andres is standing for the possition of village Mayor and has his own post to tie his donkey too outside the bar!

Well done ERC on a superb event and kicking off the super 6 series off to a fantastic start! The avr speed of the race was very high and goes to show the level in Scotland is definitely on the up! Got to agree with Fuente on his point.. A special big up to the evergreen Graham McGarrity who i seen in the shop a few weeks back saying he was going "ok" getting 9th and showing some of the young bucks how its done! Well done dude.. Great to see you back! Your a marked man now

Old Broken legs McGarrity back in the mix after that bad crash and broken bones last year. Well done mate.

Good to see Keith Laird stepping up from the B race and in the peleton. Also good to see a junior win the B race.

Missing the bike after I read this..

Beaten to the punch - thanks Martin

The full results and prize winners are up on the Edinburgh RC website
http://www.edinburghrc.co.uk/about/promotions/gifford-road-races

There's one correction to the Prizes yesterday which is that Greg Brown should have got 2nd Junior in the A Race. I only had him down on the Start List as a Cat 2 instead of a J2 so missed him when making up the Junior 1-2-3. Realised last night when going through it again. Apologies to all affected - they've all been e-mailed now.

Thanks to all who came and made for some great racing.

Doug.

Great days racing, almost incident free.

Note to all riders, the NEG marshals do a fantastic job, but you are not racing on closed roads.

Note to Juniors, don't trust the seniors, they have many years of 'hands' on experience on how to pull a fast one.
