Posted - 16 May 2012 : 23:09:42 Great fun watching this And they were going at some speed: the wind coming off them was quite impressive, as Ian mentioned and the noise...
Here are some pics I took:

Posted - 16 May 2012 : 21:47:10 Thanks Graham, the riders were going so fast, so close to the barriers that you could feel the air turbulence from them...it was actually rocking the barriers where I was standing...very impressive and a little bit scary!... Cheers Ian |

Guy facing the wrong way should have faked a wee tumble to get a lap out - I take it, if he didn't, he spent the rest of the race chasing.
Great pictures, Ian- close ups are impressive. |

wee robbie had an unfortunate tumble on lap 3...
Scary, given the first 5 laps are neutralised . No wonder there were plenty of crashes once they started.
Hope he's ok |

I have tweeted Ned Boulting of ITV to see if it would be possible to interview the fully grown, above average build man in the crowd, dressed head to toe in Raleigh kit and clutching a signed photo of one of there riders.
Anyone remember that guy dressed in Lampre kit at the Giro?

Posted - 15 May 2012 : 10:24:43 Here's your boy. Get down to Durham on Thursday night. Last time I worked on it in 2010 there was loads of carbon fibre lying in bits on the road due to a very tight corner......
