Anyone want to place a guess on either of the two riders, or the event? Don't think I'll be complaining about bad road surfaces for a while

Posted - 04 Jun 2012 : 13:22:07 It was the decent off the Lecht. The surface had been stripped off in preparation for a resurfacing job. Tricky bit of road but most of us made it through. |

Posted - 03 Jun 2012 : 09:42:50 My Dad rode the Grampians and I remember him talking with some awe about it going over the Lecht. I think they also went over the Cairnwell Pass up the Devils Elbow, which saw quite a few walking - so quite a race! |

Posted - 02 Jun 2012 : 15:48:14 The year is 1971. I'm not sure of the location but can find out. There were a lot of punctures that day. Rider 27 is Phil Templeton, currently riding the Snow Roads Audax with George Berwick on a tandem.. He provided the photo.
It is the Tour of the Grampians.
