Awarded to the fastest Veteran on standard

Jimmy Carlisle was associated with cycling in all of it's forms. He was a noted timekeeper for SAACA/SCU/RRA/SVTTA and the Road Records Association of Scotland.

Although he liked Time Trialling, his preference was in attempting Place to Place Road Records. Jimmy joined the Glasgow Section of the National Clarion in 1938. A mining accident unfortunately curtailed his racing career, so he took up timekeeping and other cycling duties. He was also a member fo the SYHA.

Jimmy died in 1981. His memorial trophy was donated by subscription from Glasgow cycling clubs and friends.

I have to inform you
that the Tour de Trossachs
trophies Mathieson, Williamson
and Carlisle were donated to
the West Lothian Clarion when
I ceased to organise the Tour.
However the Lennon Trophy is now
awarded to the fastest on standard
SVTTA member riding the Tour.
