Eddie Taylor was a founder member of the Glasgow Road club when it formed in 1927. First becoming a member of the CTC was a membership requirement of the GRC then. He started competing in Time Trials from 1828 until he became physically handicapped doing war work as a "spider monkey" (Further eplanation req. please? GG).

Eddie held a variety of posts within the Road Club and became a competent track official which became his main interest in later years. Eddie was a member of the SVTTA from 1952 until his death and competed in veteran events in 1952 and 1953.
