The new Dundee MTB trail opened this morning to a huge crowd from the Discovery club and many other local riders. Shona Robison MSP did the honours and I did get her on camera saying that she would be giving it a go on her mountain bike.

It is mostly a blue trail with optional technical trail features though there are some red alternatives. Some parts require more bedding in so aren't all open (mostly the red trails).

The trail is known as the 'Templeton Tangle' and can be found at the top end of Templeton woods, a few minutes ride up from the ranger station or down from Clatto reservoir.

General consensus is that it is 'just right' - forgiving to the beginner but with a sting in the tail for those trying to push their limits.

At the opening it was demonstrated by some that you can get round it on a balance bike, a single speed BMX, a road bike (though I think he took all the easy bypasses) and a child trailer, though you do need to bring an adult on a bike along as well for that last one.
