One day Tartan Tam Gledinning was invited to go to Windsor Castle to meet the Queen. "Golly, fancy me, Scotlands leading Cycling Commissaireand the top thinker at Stirling Bike Club meeting a real live monarch apart from June Hazznot SC.
Tam was soon battering down the road in his purple range rover a trail of smoke clearly defined his chosen route. Windsor Castle is a big place and there were lots of people there, but even so the Quenn stopped and spoke with me,. She was very nice wee woman, alas she was not wearing her crown as she does on the bank notes.
"Hello" she said, smiling but i was determined to stick to my socialists principles as taught to me in the Denny Road Club. So i refused to curtsey or call her MAM!"
Instead i fell to my wee boney knees and called her "your very gracious majesty"
All in all ,it was a lovely day and one that i shall remember for the rest of my life, GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!!!and Tartan Tam
