. Sorry to report that Jimmy passed away peacefully on Monday in Glasgow. He was a life lonng member of Glasgow United Cycling Club and was interested in all aspects of cycling. Many a time he helped at events and was well liked by all who knew him.
Due to the current situation there will not be a formal service; only immediate family at the interment.
Condolences go out to his wife and extended family. Jimmy was a good supporter of cycling; he will be sadly missed by all who knew him. I personally have lost a true friend.

Can I ask how old he was?
Sorry for the delay. Jimmy was 87yrs old but had been in care for about 3yrs. My wife spoke to Linda (Jimmy's wife) and she seems to be struggling a bit, which is not surprising, given the current situation. She is a bit isolated but we wil keep in touch with her and maybe able to visit once things settle down. Hope all is well with you and yours.
sorry to read of the passing of Jim McAleese. Iknew Jim from our school days when we used to kick a ball about with boys from the Port Dundas area of Glasgow. then when we started our working life he was with an Electrical firm in Bath Street and myself down the street with a plumbers shop.we met up again when we joined our respectful cycling clubs.Another good man gone. Till we meet again Jim. condolences to his family
