EDINBURGH

There are 3 main groups .
9.30-this is supervised and is usually 2 groups ,group one being the faster but both welcome relatively new riders.About 45 miles flattish.
9.45-This is a chain gang after a 7/8 mile warm up.It can vary but is moderately hard especially on the return leg as its usually a headwind ,this is where I usually get my weekly doo`in.
10.00 This is the serious stuff with carbon frames ,10 speed and winter racers. They have not been stopped for drog tesrs yet but its only a question of time.
The rides all follow the same basic route and meet at the BicycleWorks in Argyll place in central Edinburgh

TROON

SATURDAYs at 10 am at Troon swimming pool
Mostly Ayrodynamic Tri, also a few coming along from Wallacehill, Ayr Roads, Fullarton Wheelers and even the mighty North Beach Dooleys occasionally.

Usually about 35 miles pace pretty quick for a humble 4th cat like me but fairly frequent regrouping. There tends to be less testosterone on show once racing season starts and people are saving a bit for Sunday races.

Bunch leaving from Garrion Bridge near Larkhall (about 5mls from Hamilton, heading towards Lanark).
9.30 sharp. Most rides are about 4+hrs on quiet roads, usually heading in Peebles or Leadhills direction.
Rides are at a decent pace so not suitable for beginners (or Renfrew refugees).

Cheers
Graham

Fife winter road race every saturday morning through the winter. Apparently there is a winter warrior trophy up for grabs this year. Meet at tesco car park at 10am and shred the legs off for a trophy.

Yeah a Saturday run, usual suspects include Black Boab, Stevie Blom, Euan Pope, Barry et al from the Rockhard MTB Club. Usually just come back the cycle path after Lochwinnoch cafe stop.

Can anyone advise of any runs from Glasgow West End, is it possible to hook up with the Anniesland run?
I was a teenage roadie with Ayr Roads so not exaclty a newbie.
Done some MTBing and L'etape recently, looking to get some road miles in locally to try racing again in 2008, happy to yake a beating (on the bike that is)
