Hi everyone. I hope my fellow cyclists have had a good winter training block under their belt this year as the weather has been brilliant in comparison to last yearís snow nightmare. I also hope all my non cycling followers and sponsors have had a great start to the year.
Iíd like to start by thanking the Braveheart cycling fund for believing in me after my unlucky season last year and continuing my funding onto this year. Sometimes a little bit of belief is all that you need to get you where you want to be. It is invaluable funding for me, allowing me to race all over Britain this year, Holland hopefully and the USA again. Without this funding I would be limited to the Scottish races whereas I need the racing abroad to progress and continuously improve.
The year began with a return to the 6 day event in Rotterdam. If you look at my interview below you can see how I got on. J http://www.veloveritas.co.uk/2012/02/19/charline-joiner-interview/
Itís fair to say over the past three months I have been clocking up the miles on the road, with last weekend having cycled over 200km in 2 days. I have also been traveling down to Manchester Track league almost every Friday. I am sitting 1st woman in the Division 1 points table and I have missed 2 days, after all it costs my dad and I over £100 every week for the round trip and lunch. Check out this web site to follow my progress http://www.mrtl.co.uk/points-first.htm
I am also currently looking for more sponsorship for this season, any help with contacts for funding or equipment would be very much appreciated if you could pop me a little email. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org Thank you J
All in all, I am training harder than I ever have and itís showing in my racing every week in Manchester. I intend to race a lot more road races and criteriums this year to improve my endurance.
Thank you for readingÖ Iím hoping to have some very exciting news by my next diary post.
