Its been a wee while since my last update, and In the bike world a lot has happened to me. In the normal world not a lot has happened to me. So if you like bikes/cycling you might enjoy this, if not, your on the wrong blog (apologies).

After the commonwealth games i had some time of, then it was back to the grind (not a hard grind to be fair, i get to ride my bike all day). The next goal was the British champs at the end of September.

The first day of the British champs for myself was the 4km pursuit. In the qualifier i posted a new lifetime best of 4.29, this was massive relief more than anything as i have been chasing that elusive 4.30 all year. This qualified me 6th so i was in the 5-8th ride off. In the final i hoped to replicate my earlier performance and i felt i did, so it was a nice surprise to look up the timing board after my effort and see 4.26.6. This turned out to be the 3rd fastest time of the day, and as i recently found out the 3rd fastest time a Scotsman has recorded, behind Greame Obree and David Millar.

The next day was the points race (my favorite race) i knew from the previous day i had good legs so rode the points race with the intention of winning... and that i did. This was a very nice moment as i have been chasing a British championship gold for many years.

More recently i have been accepted onto the British cycling under 23 Olympic academy and am now living full time in Manchester, this is great opportunity with many privileges that i plan to make the most of to become a world class cyclist.

I am now riding for 100%  Me, the Olympic academy trade team. Thanks to Spokes Cycles for all the support over the last year and more.

and of course there are photos to tell the story because who reads nowadays!
