Quick Update

Craig Wallace | Wednesday 3rd June, 2015

Hi everyone,

Just a quick update on what's been happening since my last post. I've been back racing and improving every week after my illness stricken first couple of months to the season. Having got a couple of stage races in the legs I'm really starting to feel that some good form and results are just around the corner.

My most recent race in Spain was the Vuelta Bidasoa- a prestigious event that attracts teams from all over including Italy, France, Belgium, Russia and of course Spain. My own gc ambitons went out of the window early in the race when on stage 2 I suffered a mechanical failure when my front mech broke just as we were approaching the famous Jaizkibel climb (used in clasica san sebastian). After that it was mainly about riding round and trying to help the team where possible but, if anything, it was some good fast kms in the legs!

Since then I have been home in Scotland for a few weeks to mentally freshen up for the 2nd half of the season abroad. Originally I had planned 3 straight weeks of training but I decided I would get some races in too to keep the legs ticking over. I also managed to get some big rides in which will hopefully serve as a mini “base” period of training for the upcoming summer of stage races. I hope to be racing again this weekend in the Basque Country followed by the Vuelta Castello the following week.

Thanks for reading
